When an executing process' parent terminates without waiting for it to exit, we refer to the continuously executing process as an orphan process.
The process id that I was formally assigned is Branden Smith. Forked in the late 1980s my execution consisted of life as a high school dropout, U.S. Navy veteran and proud University of Nebraska graduate earning a Bachelor of Science degree with majors in mathematics and computer science. With more than a decade in the software industry, I've spent my life in pursuit of my true love—the mathematics.
For me, programming has only ever been a vehicle to algorithm design, algorithm analysis, constrained optimization, and asymptotic complexity. Though I was born with a color vision deficiency, I deeply love photography and rarely skip an opportunity to get behind the lens. orphanprocess.io is a log file of my unfiltered output as I execute on software, mathematics, photography and my personal interests.
